Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for!

Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been nominated six times for an Oscar before (five of them for acting), finally took a golden statue for Best Actor for his role “The Revenant” at the 88th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday evening.

In the Alejandro González Iñárritu movie, the “Titanic” actor played the nineteeth-century fur-trapper Hugh Glass, and had to endure freezing temperatures and even ate raw buffalo liver.

Instead of gushing over the painfully long wait like most of us probably expected him to, Leo took the perfect opportunity to seek immediate action over climate change.

“Making The Revenant was about man’s connection to the natural world. We felt in 2015 it was the hottest year on the planet. Climate change is real, it’s happening right now, it’s the most urgent threat affecting our entire species, we need to work right now and stop procrastinating.”

He later closed his speech by saying, “Let’s not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”

Watch his full acceptance speech below. (The moment starts at 3:13):
